Welcome to Wiki World!

Has been a little while since I've been able to do even one of the 23 Things :(. Am enjoying reading the blogs to see what other people are up to. Maybe we could have awards at the end of the program ..for example the most entertaining blog (that would be you Nerd).

Have just delved into Wikis. I think they have great potential for some applications within Libraries. For example, I thought the Subject Guides (St Joseph County Public Library) was well done and something we could try. Wikis could also be useful for Readers' Advisory info. We could have one wiki or split it into children's literature, YA, bookclubs, genre fiction, interesting bios etc so both library staff and our customers can provide their feedback etc.

We could also develop a wiki for staff only with all the useful background info on procedures, developing literacy, passwords for databases etc. If all this info was hosted through a wiki on the web (which required authorisation) would this save space on our servers and allow our computers to run faster???
