Mmm delicious!

Looking at the del.icio.us site and the tags used by various libraries reminds me a little of the first time I saw Librarians' Internet Index as a portal to useful links, but with extra bits. It is yet another way of bridging the gap between people and allowing them to share knowledge etc.

I think all the Web 2.0 technologies, including social bookmarking, have huge potential to be used for both staff and customers. However, I also wonder whether embracing these technologies will lead to the creation of new roles within BCCLS or whether we will stay as is and all contribute on an ad hoc basis? For example, to date BCCLS have limited scope in terms of cataloguing and specialist reference librarians, will this change as a result of applying this new technology? Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves...

Anyway, here is my
Delicious site. Definitely a work in progress...
